Arnold & Porter has a broad-based Latin America projects and energy practice, founded on the firm’s long history in the region. It now represents a mixture of sponsors and lenders in project development and project finance. The practice has achieved further growth in renewables projects in Brazil and is further noted for public-private partnership financing transactions, along with structured finance and securitisation transactions, involving energy and infrastructure assets. Energy transition and sustainability-linked financings are also areas of strength. The team features a significant number of native or fluent Spanish and Portuguese speakers. New York partner Christopher Willott has a background in project financings in Brazil and throughout Latin America, including in renewable and conventional power, transmission lines, petrochemicals and LNG, among other sectors.
