The dispute resolution team at Cobalt is regularly at the forefront of high-profile disputes and arbitration cases before the domestic Constitutional Court and Supreme Court, as well as supranational courts, including the ECHR and CJEU. The team has expertise in the gamut of areas, from financial services, competition and commercial, to administrative, media and IP. The firm is also highly commended for its pro bono human rights disputes work. With more than 25 years of experience, practice head Lauris Liepa is particularly well regarded for his knowledge of constitutional matters. Lauris has a strong track record of significant landmark cases brought before the courts of the Republic of Latvia, the Court of Justice of the European Union and also the European Court of Human Rights and in recent years he has coordinated major M&A and foreign investment deals. In the course of his legal practice extending over 20 years, Lauris has advised major local and international corporate clients and state institutions.
