Osbornes’ ‘highly respected’ personal injury team is experienced in a range of complex, high-value claims, with notable strength in acting for European clients for whom English is not a first language. The team is co-led by head of personal injury Sophie Davies, who has a notable specialism in catastrophic lower limb injuries; head of catastrophic injury Ben Posford, who has particular experience regarding spinal cord and brain injuries, and fatalities; head of child abuse Stephanie Prior, who also oversees the firm’s clinical negligence department; head of cycling Sam Collard, who acts as the main contact for the London Cycling Campaign; and head of major trauma Rob Aylott, who is known for his work on amputation claims. Stuart is head of Osbornes’ personal injury department and the firm’s joint senior partner. Stuart joined the firm in 1994 in order to specialise in personal injury litigation, and has built a thriving practice in cycling accident claims, head injury and high-value claims, often representing professionals and foreign-based clients. Stuart is passionate about fighting for the rights of accident victims and is heavily involved in the campaigning group the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He lectures regularly for APIL and in 2010 was appointed a fellow of the organisation.

Ben Posford

Ben Posford is head of catastrophic injuries and an equity partner at Osbornes, and is listed in the major legal directories as a ‘Leading Individual’. He acts exclusively for claimants who have suffered life-changing injuries, including spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, fatalities, amputations and injuries caused by medical negligence. Ben has a special interest in early rehabilitation issues for the seriously injured, and pursues defendants for initial compensation payments from the outset to establish effective care and therapy regimes. He has a reputation for acting where claimants have complex multi-million pound claims, and is known for his sensitivity and calm manner in his handling of high court litigation.
