Herbert Smith Freehills LLP is well-known for its abilities handling key financing and M&A in relation to renewable, conventional and nuclear energy both domestically and in emerging markets. Power and renewables is the focus of experienced team member Sarah Pollock, who focuses on these areas in relation to significant acquisitions and project developments. Silke Goldberg also has expertise in these sectors with a focus on climate change liability and litigation, whilst Matthew Job is finance-focused. In addition, the team is well-equipped to handle new tech in the sector, involving carbon storage and power generation, hydrogen, batteries and energy storage matters. The global co-lead of energy Lewis McDonald also leads the firm’s London-based power practice.
