Work highlights

  • Successfully advised the Advertising Standards Authority on High Court judicial review claim by Aldi Stores Limited concerning a decision of the Independent Reviewer of ASA Rulings that there was no substantial flaw in a ruling by the ASA on 9 June 2021 that an Aldi price match advertisement by Tesco published in The Sun newspaper was not misleading.
  • Advising the Advertising Standards Authority on a range of issues including  the use of online choice architecture to influence consumer shopping decisions, and where the line between information provision and promotion can be drawn for products which can lawfully be sold but not advertised under UK / EU law.
