Houthoff

The international arbitration team at Houthoff stands out for its work in cross-border claims and investment treaty disputes. The department acts both for and against sovereign states and state-owned entities, giving it unique insight into cases. Assisting with enforcement and annulment of arbitral awards also forms a part of the practice. In addition, the team is well placed to advise clients on oil and gas, construction, TMT, renewables and commercial arbitrations. The team is led from Rotterdam by arbitration heavyweight Dirk Knottenbelt, who handles a mix of international corporate, commercial and investment arbitrations. Thomas Stouten is known for his expertise in complex multi-jurisdictional disputes and is currently one of the youngest members of the ICC Court of International Arbitration in Paris. Remme Verkerk represents sovereign states and investors in arbitration proceedings, while Eva Milou Moison is particularly knowledgeable regarding sport arbitration.
