Baker McKenzie's ‘commercially focused’ tax team advises multinationals on the spectrum of tax issues, assisting with the structuring of M&A deals, spinoffs and restructurings, in addition to taking on complex transfer pricing and income tax matters and VAT issues tied to crypto assets. The team is led by Mirko Marinć, an indirect taxation specialist who focuses on the pharmaceutical and IT sectors; and direct tax expert Juliana Dantas, who handles international tax structuring and transfer pricing arrangements, and who heads the firm’s Latin America desk. The Dutch transfer pricing team is led by Antonio Russo, who also handles tax audits in Europe, Asia and North America. Hub Stolker focuses on tax controversies and litigation. Roger van de Berg, who made partner in July 2023, specialises in VAT tied to crypto assets and transactions.
