The antitrust and competition team at Mersán Abogados is composed of experienced lawyers who assist clients in matters such as anti-competitive practices, market assessments and concentration operations. The team provides legal counsel to both local and international businesses, ensuring compliance with Paraguayan antitrust regulations. The department is co-led by Diego Zavala, who leverages his expertise to guide businesses through complex antitrust matters, including Paraguay’s first abuse of dominance case to be argued in court. Tomás Mersán, also co-head, has extensive experience in major competition law cases, advising companies under investigation for anti-competitive practices. He works closely with executives to develop strategic legal defenses. Associate Federico Martínez Tebecheri contributes significantly to high-profile antitrust cases and merger control matters.
