Rubio Leguía Normand handles both contentious and non-contentious environmental issues for a broad range of clients, including those in the manufacturing, energy and natural resources sectors. It is adept at advising on the environmental risks relating to M&A, as well as project finance, permits and licenses for various projects, with a focus on air quality control, water rights, nature protection and hazardous waste management. Other areas of focus include commercial and legal support regarding Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM) and offset projects, as well as carbon finance structuring. Xennia Forno leads the practice and is well known for project development work, environmental litigation and compliance, while key practitioner Miguel Angel Soto is recommended for environmental issues pertaining to the renewable energy sector.
