EY Peru’s employment and labour practice assists clients with a broad range of employment matters, most notably the development of compensation policy strategies, collective bargaining negotiations, employment terminations, labour benefits and social security, and administrative and judicial procedures. Differentiated by it’s sheer size (some 115 members) and operating from offices in Lima, Arequipa and La Libertad, the practice is led by a group of five partners and two executive practice directors. José Ignacio Castro excels in handling labour audits, court proceedings, and inspection procedures at the Peruvian labour inspection authority (SUNAFIL), while Mauro Ugaz focuses on issues related to the application of labour standards, collective bargaining, and inspections. Miguel Rubio Ayllon’s broad practice spans due diligence, remuneration and recruitment plans; Valeria Galindo routinely advises on international mobility programs and employment contracts; and social security expert Mauricio Matos Zegarra is the key point of contact for tax-related labour matters. Practice directors Jaime Cuzquen (who is recognised for his expertise in labour inspections, occupational safety, and union matters) and Adriana Lucia Gianotti (employment taxation, individual taxation, and social security) are also key contacts.
