The labour and employment group at McConnell Valdés LLC remains a market leader, assisting major multinationals, including Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, Toyota and T-Mobile, across such sectors as pharmaceuticals, telecoms, aerospace, automotive, consumer goods and medical devices with day-to-day employment matters, the labour aspects of high-value transactions, and high-stakes labour litigation. The team is led by practice group chair Anita Montaner-Sevillano, who specialises in business immigration matters, and brings skill to disputes involving workers’ compensation, wage and hour collective claims, whistleblower and retaliation claims, and labour audits; and group vice-chair Miguel Rivera-Arce, who draws on experience managing union issues, labour arbitration and collective bargaining agreement negotiations. Another key figure is seasoned litigator Reinaldo Figueroa-Matos, who represents employers in administrative proceedings before local and federal agencies.
