Squire Patton Boggs has a ‘cohesive and very hard-working’ international arbitration practice, with expertise across international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, as well as public international law disputes. Energy, shipping, commodities, and infrastructure are particular areas of focus of the team. At leadership level, Rodman Bundy is a ’great advocate and brilliant strategist’, and is head of the ‘team of great partners and associates’ along with Barry Stimpson, who brings expertise in energy and commodities. Also highly active in the commodities space is Chris Swart.   • Advising several Asian gas buyers and public utilities in a series of gas price review negotiations and arbitrations.
  • Representing the local subsidiary of SunEdison Inc, an American renewable energy company, in two parallel proceedings related to the development of a large-scale, grid-tied solar power project in Bangladesh; the dispute arose in relation the allegedly improper termination of a power purchase agreement, allegedly in the wake of refugees from Myanmar entering Bangladesh.
  • Representing the Government of Guatemala in a case before the International Court of Justice against the Government of Belize concerning centuries-old boundary dispute.
