Known for its vast expertise in the house-building sector, Cripps’ team has recently expanded its remit to cover environmental matters, including water neutrality and biodiversity net gain. Operating out of the Tunbridge Wells office, Beth Gascoyne leads the group, bringing in-depth knowledge of handling section 106 agreements to support large scale development projects to the group. Nicole Cameron has over 10 years’ experience as a planning lawyer in local government and private practice. Jason Towell retired from the practice in October 2022.

Work highlights

  • Advised on the section 106 agreement for a major a new garden village incorporating 1,400 residential dwellings including care homes, affordable housing, schools and leisure facilities.
  • Assisted with a section 106 agreement for a major new residential-led, mixed-use development providing 1,500 homes through the allocation of the site in the adopted Ford Parish Neighbourhood Plan and Arun District Local Plan.
  • Advised on a development of 159 dwellings and the provision of ecology mitigation in order to ensure sustainability of the site, including advising on biodiversity net gain which stipulates that all planning permissions granted in England will have to deliver at least 10% biodiversity net gain from November 2023.
