Co-headed by Mark Brown and Clare Bellis, the ‘technically astute’ real estate litigation team at Freeths LLP focuses primarily on the licensed leisure sector, acting for pub owners, national brewers, and hotel owners. Brown is based in Milton Keynes, and has vast expertise in dilapidation claims and forfeiture proceedings. Over in Oxford, the ’dedicated and client focused’ Bellis has over 25 years’ experience in all aspects of property litigation. Adam Boyd was promoted to partner in April 2022, and advises clients on complex development projects, while managing associate Rosalyn Shephard specialises in Agricultural Tendencies Act 1995 litigation. Andrew Dashwood-Begg handles commercial and residential property litigation.

  • Acting for Vauxhall Tavern London, the operator of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, in a £500,000 damages and specific performance claim against its landlord, Immovate, a Dutch property investment company which is under an obligation to keep the structure of the property in repair.

Freeths LLP

Rosalyn is an associate in the Dispute Management department. She deals with a variety of disputes including agricultural, residential and commercial property, contentious probate, charities litigation, Court of Protection litigation and professional negligence. Rosalyn also advises on enforcement of judgments once obtained.Rosalyn qualified in September 2013 and has experience in handling complex high value claims in the High Court, as well as claims in the County Court and Land Registration Tribunal. She acts for private individuals, companies, trustees and administrators of estates.
