  • Successfully represented Dannemora Iron AB, owned by Grängesberg Exploration Holding AB, in the permit proceeding for the restart of the Dannemora mine in Östhammar municipality.

Partner Anders Linnerborg has assisted both national and international companies with issues relating to the environment, energy and water since 1992. Since 2010, Anders has been the head of Setterwalls’ environmental law team and since 2017 he co-heads the department with Tove Andersson. His work includes permit trials in the Land and Environmental Court where he represents the applicants for major environmentally hazardous activities and water activities throughout the country. In addition to this, Anders also works on a day-to-day basis on issues relating to industry, energy, water, infrastructure, materials, minerals and water supply. He often engages in issues of contaminated land, both in matters of responsibility and in the case of legal proceedings against other operators. In addition to this, Anders is often engaged in commercial transactions. Many of his assignments have an international connection.

Partner Tove Andersson has worked with advice on environmental and energy law since 2003. The work covers everything from large-scale environmental permit processes in different industries to environmental and energy law in transactions. The main area of expertise is environmental permit processes for which she is often engaged as lead counsel within different industry sectors. The energy sector is one her top niches and she works with many of the leading companies within the wind power industry. Also, the rock material industry and the waste industry have been in focus for a long time. In addtion, the food sector has become a growing segment. Further, Tove regularly assists in water trials, matters regarding various forms of environmental supervision, the handling of excavated masses, grid connections and species protection issues. The rapid development regarding major solar power plants and energy gases, not at the least hydrogen gas, thereto gives rise to regulatory issues. Different forms of environmental responsibility as well as environmental and energy law in contract negotiations and transactions, often involving international companies, is a central part of her business. Tove has special knowledge in insolvency related environmental law within the mining industry and regarding liability issues concerning natural disasters.

Partner Malin Wikström has 20 years of working experience within the field of environmental law. She assists companies of all sizes as well as the State and municipalities environmental law issues. Malin Wikström regularly assists clients with permit applications regarding large and complex environmentally hazardous facilities and activities, and acts as legal counsel in the Land and Environmental courts. She represents some of Sweden’s largest infrastructure facilities (such as ports and airports) and furthermore development projects, waste facilities and major industries. Malin is a go-to in permit applications and is one of the leading lawyers in this field. Malin also assists in matters relating to environmental damages, environmental crime, transboundary shipment of waste, work environment and issues relating to the supervision of environmentally hazardous activities.
