Work highlights
- Representing AAC Holdings, Inc., a reputable Tennessee-based entity specializing in substance use treatment services. Representation encompasses a securities class action where allegations of materially false and misleading statements have been made regarding AAC's financial reporting and disclosure controls.
- In this prospective class action, which was initiated in December 2018 in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York by Maureen Dowe, a former employee of Prudential Securities, Inc. ("PSI"), the plaintiff sought to represent all PSI employees who unknowingly settled their race discrimination claims against PSI without knowledge of an alleged conspiracy between the Prudential Defendants and Leeds, Morelli and Brown (LMB). The alleged conspiracy involved an agreement in which PSI purportedly paid LMB's attorneys' fees to deter African-American employees from pursuing their claims against PSI.
- Representing Assurance, Inc. ("Assurance"), a company acquired by Prudential, Inc. in 2019, in a substantial putative civil RICO class action situated in the Southern District of Florida. Plaintiffs allege that Assurance, in collaboration with three other entities, participated in a fraudulent scheme by marketing non-ACA compliant health products as comprehensive medical insurance, including short-term medical and fixed indemnity plans.
