Career

Ülkü graduated from Bilkent University Faculty of Law in 2006 and was admitted to the İstanbul Bar Association in 2007.

Prior to joining NAZALI as the Corporate Law and M&A partner, she worked as a counsel in a leading law firm in the Republic of Turkey and played an active role in the executive team.

Ülkü structures and implements corporate and commercial transactions as well as deals in all business phases. Her work includes cross-border and domestic corporate and commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions and contracts, from entry through to exit. Under corporate and commercial law, her major practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, information and technology law and growth finance.

Ülkü provides legal support to international and local clients on both buy and sell-side mergers and acquisitions transactions. She also concentrates on representing venture capital firms during fund raising and equity financing activities. Ülkü is actively involved in planning and implementing investment and divestment strategies as well as in venture capital and angel investment transactions, ranging from seed to growth capital. Ülkü is also actively participate to the events of different organizations as mentor, jury or as speaker to contribute the sustainable growth of Turkish start-up ecosystem

More than four years, Ülkü mainly assists her clients on data protection law and she designs and manages data protection and privacy related compliance projects, drafts compliance documents, provides ongoing day to day legal support on data protection, carries out external audits, plans and provides corporate and external trainings, assist her clients on privacy and compliance related process designs, provides continious support during Communications with relevant authorities and data subjects. 

Ülkü also actively provides legal support on information technology law and follows up developing practice areas such as e-commerce, blockchain, IOT, AI and advices her clients in all kinds of information technology law related matters.
