Broad commercial practice, in line with chambers’ expertise. Robert has particular experience of disputes involving construction, energy, shipping, financial services, insurance and professional negligence. Robert regularly appears in court on behalf of banks. He has undertaken secondments with a major bank and with the financial markets dispute resolution department at a major City law firm; been instructed to advise in a coverage dispute under a liability policy; and undertaken professional negligence claims against auditors, insurance brokers and financial services professionals, solicitors, barristers, accountants, engineers and architects.

Called 2013, Middle Temple. Awarded a Queen Mother Scholarship from his inn. Since October 2014, Robert has been a junior tenant at 4 Pump Court.

The Benjamin Britten High School, Lowestoft, Suffolk; Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge (2009-12 BA (Hons) Law, 1st. Prizes for academic achievement included the 1 Chancery Lane Prize for the Law of Tort 2010, the Falcon Chambers Prize for Land Law 2011 and the Clifford Chance CJ Hamson Prize for the Law of Contract 2011 (each awarded for the highest mark in his year at Cambridge on these papers)); BPP Law School (BPTC, Outstanding – Robert was awarded the Baron Dr Ver Heyden De Lancey prize for gaining the highest mark of any Middle Templar on his BPTC).
