Position

Michael King is a commercial litigator with particular expertise in intellectual property and information law. He regularly advises on cases involving freedom of information and data protection issues. Recently he has been working with organisations on the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Education

Michael graduated with an LLB from Queen’s University of Belfast in 2002. In 2003 he completed an LLM in International Human Rights Law from QUB, before obtaining a Certificate in Professional Legal Studies in 2006. In 2006, Michael was admitted as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature in Northern Ireland.

Michael completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Commercial Intellectual Property (Dip CIP) from Nottingham Trent University in 2008 and in 2010 he was admitted as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature in England & Wales.

In 2012 Michael qualified as a mediator with Queen’s University Belfast and in 2015 he was certified as a practitioner in data protection (PcDp).
