Nicola Bennison

Nicola bennison leads the national student issues team in the education group. Nicola has worked with institutions in the he and fe sectors for more than 20 years. Nicola has a dual specialism in student issues and employment law with a particular focus on equality and diversity. Nicola regularly advises on student issues focussing on student complaints, disciplinary and litigation matters, particularly involving issues of discrimination. Recent experience includes advising in relation to complaints by students with a range of disabilities, defending claims by students for race and age discrimination, for religious discrimination and for admission by students with sen. Her work also includes employment law matters, contentious and non contentious, including claims for unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, whistle blowing and equality and diversity issues, particularly dealing with the management of internal grievances, and strategic hr issues.  Nicola has particular experience of dealing with termination arrangements for senior employees. Nicola is an expert on tupe and outsourcing issues and has worked with a range of local government organisations on the hr issues for public private partnerships with a focus on strategic and incremental partnerships including joint venture arrangements.. Nicola is an experienced advocate appearing in the courts and the employment tribunal.
