Daniel offers a full private client service covering every aspect of immigration, residency, trusts and wealth structuring, estate planning, probate and family law. He advises high-net-worth individuals and companies on a variety of immigration issues and has extensive experience of assisting persons of independent means, families and businesses with relocation to the Cayman Islands, where he has lived since 2013. Daniel handles every type of immigration matter including applications for long term and permanent residence, Cayman Islands and British citizenship, the right to be Caymanian (Cayman Status) and all related appeals. Daniel also advises high-net-worth individuals, families and institutional clients on a range of non-contentious trust and wealth structuring matters. He is experienced in the preparation of Wills and regularly submits applications for grants of probate, letters of administration, resealing of foreign grants and guardianship. Daniel has considerable expertise in family law and offers a broad practice covering contentious and non-contentious divorce, pre and post-nuptial agreements, separation, financial and ancillary relief and all Children Law matters including residence, contact, custody, relocation and removal from the jurisdiction.
Carey Olsen
Bernadette is the head of our Cayman Islands trusts and private wealth team and has a broad private client practice advising on wealth structuring and estate planning matters, including the administration, restructuring, and termination of trusts, as well as probate and testamentary issues. She also has significant experience in trust litigation, regularly appearing before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands on multi-party non-contentious applications and contentious trust disputes, as well as in respect of estate litigation and other cross-border private client disputes. Bernadette regularly advises high net worth individuals, trustees, beneficiaries, family offices, executors, wealth managers, institutional clients, and onshore legal teams on all aspects of trusts and estates law in the Cayman Islands. She is an elected member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law (TIAETL), where membership to the global body is by invitation only and is highly selective. All members must have practiced law in the Academy's areas of interest for at least ten years and must have distinguished themselves through lecturing, writing or participation in professional organizations. They must also have demonstrated a significant interest in the continuing development of the law of their own countries. She is also an International Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel, and a long-standing Council Member of the Cayman Islands branch of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners. Bernadette is the author of the Cayman Islands chapters of numerous private client texts, including "International Estate Planning: A Reference Guide" and "Trusts in Prime Jurisdictions". Collas Crill
Senior Associate. Sally specialises in both contentious and non-contentious international trusts and private client work. As a commercial litigator, she also has experience in shareholder disputes, and insolvency litigation and general commercial disputes. Sally has over nine years of experience working offshore, in both Cayman and Guernsey. Sally regularly advises trustees, high net worth individuals, family offices and charitable organisations on the establishment, restructuring and administration of trust structures, including in relation to the use of STAR trusts, Foundation Companies and private trust companies. Sally also advises on trust matters relating to the establishment and administration of investment funds structured as unit trusts, pension trusts and employee benefit trusts. Sally has significant experience in relation to trust litigation matters, including in relation to applications for directions, court blessings, mistake and rectification, as well as grants of probate and letters of administration, and resealing foreign grants. Prior to moving to Cayman in December 2016, Sally worked in Guernsey and in Australia for several years.
