David was articled with Edwin Coe and qualified in 1980, becoming a partner in 1984. He was appointed Senior Partner of the Firm in April 2011. David specialises in commercial litigation including competition claims and claims on behalf of shareholders, and is Head of the Group Action Litigation department.He has developed a strong following in contentious competition work being involved in cases in front of the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT), High Court and Competition Commission. He has for many years advised sovereign states on disputes in international tribunals and particularly specialises in work involving governments in sub-Saharan Africa.David was appointed by the Lord Chancellor to the Civil Procedure Rules Committee in 1997. He was then appointed in 2002 as a member of the Civil Justice Council. He is the author of “Civil Procedure Rules”, an associate editor of “Civil Practice Manual”, on the editorial board of Butterworths’ “The Civil Court Practice” (“the Green Book”), a contributor to the Law Society’s “Civil Litigation Manual”, and the author of two titles for Atkins Court Forms.

Andrew is Managing Director of KP Law, taking primary responsibility for the growth and direction of the firm. As a seasoned commercial litigator, he has a deep understanding of collective redress and litigation finance. Andrew established KP Law in 2019 and developed its practice to include claims in emissions, worker rights, data breach and privacy, financial products, investment fraud and mis-selling and competition. Andrew resolved claims for over 10,000 Uber drivers seeking redress for historic failures by the company to grant workers’ rights and is also representing Tesco store workers in a group action claim for unpaid wages. He also leads the firm’s case against VW, Vauxhall and Mercedes.

Genevieve acts for corporate and individual clients in a broad range of commercial disputes. She frequently represents companies in the banking and finance, private equity, hospitality and leisure, retail, media and telecoms sectors. Her expertise spans pre-action strategic advice to directors, shareholders and company founders through to high value, multi-jurisdictional High Court litigation. Genevieve has a leading banking and finance litigation practice as well as a specialism in competition private enforcement actions, and is currently representing over 1,000 companies in group claims against Visa and MasterCard. She is equally at ease acting for claimants and defendants, and frequently works with third party litigation funders. Recent work includes: strategic advice to founder of high profile media business involving breach of directors’ duties and unfair prejudice to minority shareholders; defending a £50m+ breach of warranty claim; breach of contract and rectification action acting for PE fund; advising US hedge fund in relation to material adverse effect clause; acting for a major global trust company in several multi-jurisdictional actions involving allegations of fraud; advising corporate director in relation to round tripping allegations; providing advice on potential liabilities arising from the Grenfell Tower Fire to global bank. Genevieve is co-chair of the Cambridge Forum on European Collective Redress, a member of the International Bar Association and a frequent conference speaker.

Head of the Securities Litigation department. Keith focuses on complex and high-value commercial litigation with a particular emphasis on financial and banking disputes. Keith has recently led the high profile RBS Rights Issue Litigation to a successful conclusion on behalf of 313 major financial institutions. Keith’s expertise is in banking and financial litigation, securities litigation, multi-jurisdictional and international disputes, fraud and asset recovery, private client and trust disputes. Cases on which Keith has acted include the RBS Rights Issue Litigation where he advised 313 financial institutions on recovering their losses arising from RBS’s £12bn rights issue, the recovery from London institutions of monies for a US receiver of a collapsed hedge fund and a number of high profile Russian disputes being tried in London.

She is a litigator with over 10 years’ experience and has particular expertise in consumer group actions. Shazia was one of the lead partners on the Volkswagen NOx Emissions Group Litigation, and is currently leading a second group action against the Volkswagen Group.
