Ola is head of the firm's Litigation and Arbitration practice. His main areas of practice include issues relating to litigation and dispute resolution, as well as contractual law, real estate and administrative law. Ola is admitted to the Norwegian Supreme Court and is recommended by Chambers and Partners as "Leaders in their field" in the category Dispute Resolution.

Partner Magnus Hellesylt has special expertise in litigation and dispute resolution, often involving highly complex matters. He is admitted to the Supreme Court.

Frode A. Innjord is a partner in our Real Estate and Construction law practice area. Innjord provides both the private and public sectors with advice and dispute resolution within the field of real estate law. His professional experience includes assisting the largest public and private real estate developers in cases related to hydropower development, ground pollution, property disputes, expropriation and land regulation. His professional portfolio also includes advising the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment for a number of years in matters related to compensation settlements after the establishment of nature conservation areas. Innjord is the editor of Gyldendals legal commentary on the Planning and Building Act. He has also written several articles on various topics related to real estate law, and serves as a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Property law. Innjord has extensive experience with litigation and commercial dispute resolution. He has been admitted to the Norwegian Supreme Court since 1994, and throughout the years has litigated a number of cases that raised issues on private and public matters in the ordinary courts, as well as the Courts of arbitration. The nature of the cases rang in a broad spectrum, from cooperation agreements on the shelf, via cases concerning franchise agreements, securities management and property taxes, to international indigenous rights. Innjord is a highly acclaimed lawyer within dispute resolution in national and international lawyer rankings. In addition to his own litigation activities, Innjord has also served as an arbitrator in a number of commercial disputes. In several of the cases, he has been appointed as the head of the arbitral tribunal, and he has also acted as the sole arbitrator.

Partner and chair of the board Johnny Johansen is among Norway’s most respected legal practitioners. He has substantial experience in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, and is admitted to the Supreme Court. He is particularly renowned for his work in large and complex construction and infrastructure projects, including buildings, roads, railways, power plants, and onshore aquaculture farms. Johansen is recommended and referred to within his practice areas by inter alia Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, Legal 500 and Finansavisen (Norwegian Financial Daily's). In the latter, he has over the last years been ranked as the leading construction lawyer in Norway. Johansen frequently sits as an arbitrator in international and domestic contract disputes. He is a member of the Norwegian Bar Association’s contract law committee, regularly lectures on his areas of specialisation and is the author of several respected legal books and articles.

Partner Nils-Henrik Pettersson has worked as a lawyer since 1984. He has litigated hundreds of civil cases before the courts, including around 25 cases before the Supreme Court. He has extensive experience with arbitration cases, including as an arbitrator, and has litigated several of the most prominent cases that have been brought before Norwegian courts. He also has considerable experience with buying and selling businesses. Nils-Henrik has special experience with cases concerning professional liability, auditors’ liability, corporate disputes, oil and gas related disputes and construction law and real estate. He also has extensive experience as a member of boards of directors, corporate assemblies and election committees in listed and unlisted companies.

Partner Anders Ryssdal is one of Norway’s most highly respected litigators. He has argued a great number of cases before Norwegian and international courts, and he is top ranked under Dispute Resolution in Chambers 2020 and Legal 500. Anders has brought 25 cases before the Supreme Court, of which 6 cases in plenary and grand chamber. He has extensive experience with arbitration and serves regularly as arbitrator. He also handles class-action lawsuits. Anders’ particular expertise is within disputes over limited liability law, company law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), securities trading law, financial market law, contract law, competition law, public law and international law. He oversees parallel processes in several countries. Anders also has extensive experience as member of boards of directors, supervisory boards and election committees of listed and unlisted companies.

Nils Christian Langtvedt is a partner in Hjort’s industry and trade department, with in-depth experience with corporate litigation. Nils Christian represents companies and individuals in civil dispute resolution and acts as legal counsel in white-collar prosecutions. Nils Christian works mainly with disputes arising from commercial contracts and investments. He provides strategic advice at every stage of the process, from negotiation to, if applicable, litigation or arbitration. Nils Christian represents domestic and international companies within a wide range of industries including technology, energy, telecom, automobile, finance, real estate etc. He has special expertise on securing evidence and the misappropriation of trade secrets.

Mr Raanes works primarily with dispute resolution within contract law, construction law, intellectual property law, insurance law and matters concerning corporate law. He acts regularly on behalf of large Norwegian enterprises in litigation procedures before the ordinary courts and in arbitration. Raanes has been heading Thommessen's Bergen office since 2011.

Partner. Riksfjord acts as legal advisor and counsel for clients in disputes involving numerous industries, including banking, financial services, private equity and venture capital, real estate, retail, shipping, insurance, energy, fisheries and aquaculture. He also represents and counsel management, directors, accountants and lawyers in professional liability matters.​ Riksfjord has a particular focus on commercial disputes, typically arising out of debt and equity investments, financing agreements, acquisition agreements, shareholder agreements, contracts and other significant agreements or arrangements. He also specializes in cases involving trade secrets, financial instruments, digital currencies, valuations and other economic issues, as well as employment law.​​ In addition to this, Riksfjord is an expert on provisional measures, including preliminary injunctions, seizures and securing of evidence – especially in complex international matters. Anne Hesjedal Sending has extensive experience within litigation, mediation and dispute resolution over the last 20 years, including more than 12 years at the Attorney General's office, Civil Affairs, where she represented the Norwegian Government and underlying entities in a three-digit number of cases. She continues to litigate complex and high value disputes, focusing on public procurement and commercial contract cases within various industries, including major construction and infrastructure projects. Anne has been admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court since 2009. She also has experience with arbitration including sitting as an arbitrator. She is ranked within her fields of specialization in Chambers Europe (Public Procurement) and Legal 500 (Dispute Resolution).

Partner. Kristine mainly works with dispute resolution with a particular focus on offshore and construction. She specializes in litigation and arbitration, offshore contracts and construction law. She has broad experience with litigation, mediation and arbitration both in Norway and internationally. Kristine also has in-depth knowledge of the oil- and gas industry.

Marie works primarily within litigation and arbitration, with a particular focus on cross border disputes. She has extensive experience with litigation before the ordinary courts, as well as national and international arbitration (ICC, SCC, OCC, DIA and ad hoc), and her work has covered a wide range of industries and issues. Marie holds a PhD in private international law from the University of Oslo, where she continues to teach. In 2021, she was admitted to the Supreme Court, and in 2022, she topped the ranking of up and coming dispute resolution lawyers in the Norwegian Financial Daily's annual lawyers survey.

Kari Sigurdsen has more than 15 years of experience within litigation and dispute resolution, including five years at the Office of the Attorney General for Civil Affairs. She has pleaded a significant number of cases before Norwegian courts, including cases before the Norwegian Supreme Court. In 2019 she was admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court. She also has experience with ad hoc arbitration under the Norwegian Arbitration Act. Sigurdsen handles complex disputes and mediations for some of Norway’s leading companies within a wide range of topics within business law, including contract law, company law, tort law and employment law. Sigurdsen also has extensive experience with dispute resolution for clients from the State and Public Sector, such as the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice. She also regularly litigates tax and VAT cases for the Norwegian Tax Administration.

In addition, he frequently assists clients with cross-border matters and is regularly instructed in cross-border litigation and international arbitration proceedings. Landmark Tandrevold also advises litigation funders and claimants with disputes funding options and regulatory matters. Landmark Tandrevold focuses on providing clear, no-nonsense advice. Senior Associate. Behncke assists Norwegian and foreign clients with various forms of dispute resolution, including litigation, negotiations and general business law counselling. He possesses broad expertise within contract law, law of damages and insurance law, and has been involved in several extensive and complex disputes before the courts. Behncke has considerable experience of cases relating to professional liability and directors’ liability. In addition to his involvement in sizeable litigation assignments concerning directors’ liability and management liability, he has written an article on mitigation of directors’ liability pursuant to Section 17-2 of the Limited Liability Companies Act, published in Norwegian legal journal “Tidsskrift for erstatningsrett, forsikringsrett og trygderett” (journal for law of damages, insurance law and social security law). Behncke is also part of the professional liability team, which handles a number of cases against different kinds of professional practitioners, and has particular expertise in the area of auditor’s liability. Within insurance, Behncke’s assistance includes assessment of cover, filing of claims to insurance companies and handling of disputes associated with various types of insurance cover. He has particular experience of D&O insurance and professional liability insurance. Behncke also gives lectures on these subjects.
