His recent project experience includes advising:- a major national developer on the acquisition and then the £1 billion remediation and redevelopment of a 1000 acre former oil refinery to create an urban village; on many town centre redevelopment projects including procurement advice and advice on the major infrastructure energy and utilities contracts and liaising with the public bodies, funding and acquiring assets at the relevant site; an international energy company on procurement of on-shore and off-shore wind farm projects and associated infrastructure contracts; on construction and environmental elements of a deal for the UK’s leading regeneration developer in its negotiations for the acquisition and development of 3500 acres of land in 3 counties; on the Turbine Supply Agreement for one of the world’s largest off shore wind farms; St. Modwen Properties Plc Group Companies on substantially all of its national development portfolios including distribution warehouses, head offices for international and national companies, major infrastructure projects and remediation projects.

Martino has a wealth of experience in litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation, early neutral evaluation and expert determination of sizeable complex disputes covering issues such as contract formation and contract interpretation, delay, disruption and prolongation claims, loss and expense and compensation claims, defects claims, certification and payment issues, repudiation and determination, warranty, bonds and guarantees claims. He has acted for clients in some of the defining construction projects of the last decade (including Portcullis House and the Millennium Dome) and the current decade (including the M6 Toll Road and Wembley National Stadium). Martino’s dual qualification means that his practice covers the full range of advisory and drafting work before and after the commencement of proceedings and advocacy in the courts and tribunals concerning claims by or against employers, contractors, sub-contractors and related professionals (architects, engineers, surveyors and project managers). Martino has both domestic and international dispute resolution experience and has acted for clients in hundreds of adjudications (including the seminal Macob v Morrison Construction case) since the introduction of the Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.

Zoe is a partner in the construction team specialising in non-contentious (contracts) advice. She has almost 20 years of experience in advising UK and overseas construction and infrastructure, property, and commercial related projects. Zoe has a particular specialism in energy projects and has advised various stakeholders on a variety of public and private projects. She is highly experienced in creating legal frameworks for complex deals and developments, including construction interfaces with funding, property / leasing issues, corporate restructures, and agreements with interested third parties /stakeholders. She is also well versed in the nuclear sector, having advised on several Tier 1 and Tier 2 supply contracts for Hinkley Point C and now Sizewell C. Zoe’s advice covers a range of Head Contracts, EPC Contracts (including FIDIC, NEC), O&M and Supply Contracts. She also advises on interfaces between project contracts and the pass-through of risks, responsibilities and obligations to best protect the client. Zoe joined Browne Jacobson in 2022 after working for leading international law firms Reed Smith, Baker & McKenzie and Nabarro in London and Singapore, followed by national firm Clarke Willmott on her return to the UK. Zoe has an MSc in Construction Law from King’s College, London and spent over five years in practice in Asia.
