(Vienna, 10 June 2021) Binder Grösswang advised Vertellus, a global supplier and manufacturer of speciality chemicals, and Pritzker Private Capital, a leader in family direct investing, in connection with the acquisition of the Intermediates and Specialty Chemicals business of ESIM Chemicals (IM Chemicals).

The signing of the transaction agreement took place on 26 May 2021, and the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals. The parties have agreed not to disclose terms of the transaction.

This acquisition supports Vertellus’ strategy to become a leading global supplier of specialty chemicals and to expand its abilities to meet the needs of global customers for specialized products and solutions. IM Chemicals’ production capabilities provide additional growth opportunities.

Indianapolis-based Vertellus is owned by Pritzker Private Capital and management. Vertellus is a leading supplier of specialty products for the healthcare, personal care, food and agriculture, coatings and transportation markets. Founded in 1857, the company manufactures more than 700 different products used in medical devices, vitamins, health & cosmetics, crop protection, fuels & lubricants, among others. The company serves customers around the world from 10 manufacturing facilities in the United States, United Kingdom, India and China.
