Career
Valentina Alamo represents clients in disputes arising from construction and infrastructure contracts, public-works concession contracts and power purchase agreements.
She also acts as administrative secretary in international arbitrations, following the rules of the Santiago and Mexico arbitration and mediation centers (“CAM”), and of the ICC.
Before joining Cuatrecasas, she worked in Paris at the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”) and at Latham & Watkins, and in Santiago de Chile at Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría.
She lectures in the course “International Commercial Arbitration” at Universidad Católica de Chile and on commercial arbitration in the Master of Laws at Universidad Católica de Chile (LLM UC).
In 2017 and 2018, she was a procedural law lecturer at Universidad Católica de Chile. She was also a procedural law and a Roman law assistant at Universidad Católica de Chile.
She has been a founder member of the Executive Committee of Santiago Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (“SVYAP”) since 2017, and was a founder member of Latin American Arbitration Practitioners (“LATAP-EU”) in 2019.
She speaks regularly at seminars and conferences on national and international litigation and arbitration.
