Career

Manuel Franco is an expert in international arbitration and disputes relating to construction and energy sectors. He has extensive experience in Latin America, having worked in the Cuatrecasas Colombia office for several years.

He is an expert in (i) international arbitrations under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the London Maritime Arbitration Association (LMAA), the Madrid Court of Arbitration (CAM), and the Spanish Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration (CIMA); (ii) ad hoc arbitrations; and (iii) Dispute Adjudication Board proceedings. He has participated in disputes involving many international jurisdictions, including Algeria, Chile, Colombia, France, Honduras, Panama, Peru, Romania, Spain and Turkey.

He has lectured on international arbitration and international trade law at several universities (Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICADE, Centro de Estudios Universitarios Villanueva, and Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros CUNEF). He was the CUNEF coach in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

He has published several articles on international arbitration and trade, and speaks at international arbitration conferences in Spain and Latin America.
