Diversity and Inclusion

We believe in purpose over profit. That’s why we’re building an uplifting culture that puts people at the heart of what we do. Our achievements to date include:

  • Investors in Diversity Standard. We place a diversity and inclusion lens on all our people practices. RDJ has been awarded the Irish centre for Diversity 'Investors in Diversity Silver Standard' which measures the sense of fairness and belonging through our employees' perspective.
  • Diversity Scholarships. We have set up Diversity Scholarship & Placement Programmes in University College Cork and University of Galway to support law students from underrepresented and ethnically diverse backgrounds. • Gender Balance. RDJ is a participant in the 30% Club, a collaborative business-led effort to make real change in Ireland, aiming towards increased female representation in senior management. Through our participation in the 30% Club, we are committed to women comprising at least 30% of RDJ's senior management team.
  • Supporting Diversity across the legal profession. RDJ is signed up to the Bar Council Equitable Briefing Policy which seeks to encourage fairer distribution of work to female barristers. The Policy which was formally launched in March 2023 aims to address the under-representation of women in certain practice areas, and the fact that just 20% of senior counsel are women.
  • Championing women in STEM. RDJ sponsors I Wish, an initiative that inspires young women to explore STEM careers and actively contribute to future economies. Since it began in 2015, over 50,000 girls from 28 countries have discovered exciting career opportunities in STEM through outreach events, mentorship and twinning programmes.
  • Women in Leadership. Our Women in Leadership series aims to inform and inspire women about gender inequality and gender balance. See here for our most recent event https://www.rdj.ie/insights/rdj-welcomes-trailblazing-skincare-leader-for-fempower-2025
