Alain-Laurent Verbeke

Alain-Laurent is a Partner in the Greenille Private Client team. Alain-Laurent specialises in estate planning, family property law (relational property law, inheritance law, wills and donations), family dynamics and governance. His work involves facilitating next gen and family wealth processes as well as negotiation, mediation and arbitration of family business, inheritance and divorce conflicts and disputes.

Alexander Baert

Alexander is a Director in the Tax Dispute Resolution Team. He advises national and international companies on all aspects of customs and global trade law.

Annick Visschers

Annick is head of the Tax Dispute Resolution team of lawyers at Deloitte Legal. She specialises in Belgian and international tax law and focuses on tax risk management, criminal law in tax matters, tax litigation and tax recovery. She also acts as a lawyer in tax proceedings before the Court of Cassation and the Court of Justice.

Bart is a Director in the Greenille Private Clients team at Deloitte Legal. He focusses on the wealth planning of the private client practice, with an in-depth cross-border knowledge of gift and estate taxes as well as private international law. He has advised several high net worth individuals on their national and international wealth planning, including in- and outbound advisory.

Benoît is Partner in Deloitte Legal's Corporate and M&A team of lawyers. His work focuses on M&A, corporate law and capital markets and includes financial regulatory and litigation files.

Caroline Costermans

Caroline is a Partner in the Greenille Private Client team and focuses on private wealth structuring, in particular when international aspects come into play.

Christoph Michiels

Christoph is a Partner in the Corporate and M&A department. His work is focused on corporate and financial law, M&A, private equity/venture capital and capital market transactions, areas on which he has written a number of publications.

Danny is head of the tax advisory practice. He is a tax lawyer specialised in VAT, in particular with respect to real estate and financial transactions, as well as eco taxes and contributions. As partner, Danny focuses on VAT consulting for Belgian clients in the private and public sectors and the broad corporate market at national and international level. In the real estate industry, Danny focuses on VAT consulting for clients in the private (e.g. real estate developers, REITs, hospitals, senior housing, etc.) and public sectors and the broad corporate market at national and international level. Besides the specific VAT topics (e.g. reduced VAT rates, VAT exemptions), he has also good knowledge of alternative financing of real estate and transfer duties.

David Roelens is head of the Corporate and M&A and Finance practice. David’s practice focuses on cross-border and domestic M&A and private equity transactions, real estate transactions, debt and equity capital markets and corporate law. He also advises clients in relation to general commercial law, insolvency and restructuring issues.

Dominique Vanherck

Dominique is a member of Deloitte Legal's Public law, regulatory & permits team. She is a sustainability expert with a particular focus on the energy sector. She advises clients on all climate and energy law related matters including subsidies, permits, concessions and contracts. Furthermore, she has extensive experience with large infrastructure projects, and in that respect advises public and private sector clients on construction law, PPP, DBFM(O) contracts, EPC contracts and public procurement. As an affiliate researcher at the KU Leuven’s Institute for Environmental and Energy Law, she writes several scientific contributions per year and regularly speaks at energy law conferences. She is also a member of the editorial board of the Environmental and Energy Law Journal.

Emmanuel Leroux

Emmanuel is a Senior Director in the Corporate and M&A department. He focuses on general corporate law advisory, family businesses, capital markets transactions, M&A, and corporate litigation. He also has a particular expertise in corporate governance.

Eric von Frenckell

Eric is a Partner in the tax advisory team. He focuses on international tax and is among others active in the pharmaceutical industry. He also regularly advises large groups based in the United States or France. Eric assists multinational groups through Business Model Optimisations and International Strategic Tax Reviews.

Filip is a Director in the Tax Dispute Resolution team within Deloitte Legal, focusing on direct tax risk management and litigation. Filip assists taxpayers during audits, negotiations and litigation with the tax administration concerning income taxes and private wealth structuring. Furthermore he has a special focus on the G&PS sector, acting regularly on all questions concerning the specific tax regime for the sector.

Frank Vanbiervliet

Frank is a Director in the Tax Dispute Resolution team. He specialises in multi-jurisdictional tax planning and tax litigation. He also provides tax advisory services relating to mergers & acquisitions, VAT and other indirect and local taxes, transfer pricing, pensions and benefits, international and local corporate restructuring for holding and real estate companies.

Frederik Swennen

Frederik is member of the Greenille Private Client team at Deloitte Legal. He specialises in national and international family law, private international law and art law. Frederik’s work involves family governance and family proceedings, as well as planning of private art collections, in collaboration with the public sector.

Glenn heads the dispute resolution and insolvency & restructuring division of Deloitte Legal’s Commercial law team. Glenn joined Deloitte Legal in 2009. He has more than 12 years of experience in assisting in negotiations, advising and representing clients in diverse a wide range of commercial and corporate litigation and arbitration proceedings. He is also experienced in fraud and white-collar crime as well as general contract and tort law. In this capacity, he acts as a trusted business advisor to a wide-variety of Belgian and international clients, going from start-ups, over scale-ups, SME’s to large Belgian and multinational companies corporations, operating in various sectors. Furthermore, Glenn focusses on insolvency and restructuring matters, for which he is recommended in the Leaders League. Glenn has successfully concluded the training to act as insolvency practitioner. He is a member of the Belgian Turnaround Association and has several publications to his name.

Hélène is a member of the Greenille Private Client team within Deloitte Legal - Lawyers. She specialises in family property law, marriage contracts, gifts, wills and inheritance law.

Jasmijn Verraes

Jasmijn is a Director in the Commercial team of lawyers at Deloitte Legal. She specialises in general commercial law, commercial litigation and has developed a special focus on contract law.

Joaquim Heirman

Joaquim is a Director at Deloitte Legal, specialising in all VAT matters. He has over 10 years of experience in advisory services including guiding companies through administrative and court procedures.

Johan is a partner in the Tax Dispute Resolution team and is a specialist in (criminal) tax litigation, advising companies and individuals, not only during the administrative process of the litigation (advice on tax challenges to final assessments, negotiations with both local and central tax administration, individual rulings, claims against assessments, notices, etc...) but also before tax courts at Belgian (Court of first instance, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court) and European level.

Jürgen heads the Commercial and Business Criminal law practices. He also leads the commercial law service line within the global Legal network. Jürgen has extensive experience in advising Belgian and foreign companies in commercial and criminal law matters. His focus is on contract law, distribution law, market practices, pre-insolvency and insolvency, tort law and white collar crime. Jürgen advises and represents clients before both civil and criminal courts, and he is well-acquainted with arbitration proceedings.

Kathleen De hornois

Kathleen became Managing Partner of Deloitte Legal - Lawyers on 1 October 2021. She is also head of the Public, regulatory and permits team and a member of the Real estate practice. With a background both as an attorney and a company lawyer, Kathleen has extensive experience in administrative law, public procurement, public-private partnerships, environment law, urban planning and real estate in general. From 2018 to 2019, Kathleen was the firm’s Eminence partner.

Kristof Maresceau

Kristof is a Director mainly specialising in (cross-border) corporate law. He advises both individual persons as well as companies on various aspects of corporate and commercial law. He mainly focuses on advising clients with regard to national and international corporate transactions, such as mid market acquisitions and divestitures (M&A), the setting up of joint ventures, advice on corporate governance and general corporate law issues.

Lara is a Director in Deloitte Legal's Corporate and M&A team of lawyers.

Luc is Of Counsel in the Tax Dispute Resolution and Tax Advisory teams of lawyers within Deloitte Legal. He is a leading expert in Belgian and international tax.

Marc Van tieghem

Marc is a Partner in the Corporate and Finance department. He has a broad practice, advising clients on domestic and cross-border M&A and real estate transactions, corporate reorganisations and corporate disputes. In addition to his wide experience in a variety of industries and sectors, Marc’s practice has a particular focus on the public sector, including public enterprise and public private partnerships.

Maresceau Maresceau

Kristof is a lawyer mainly specialising in (cross-border) corporate law. He advises both individual persons as well as companies on various aspects of corporate and commercial law. He mainly focuses on advising clients with regard to national and international corporate transactions, such as mid market acquisitions and divestitures (M&A), the setting up of joint ventures, advice on corporate governance and general corporate law issues. In addition to his work as director within Deloitte Legal - Lawyers, Kristof is also a professor of corporate law at the University of Ghent. He regularly publishes articles on (Belgian and European) corporate and insolvency law for which he has been awarded with the triennial international Pierre Coppens prize for law (2014-2017) and the TPR-prize (Tijdschrift voor Privaatrecht) (2015). Kristof Maresceau acted as an expert appointed by the Belgian Minister of Justice and was actively involved in the drafting of the new Belgian Companies Code.

Mathieu has been a tax partner in the Greenille Private Client team since 2011 and has been head of the team since 2017.

Matthias Vierstraete

Matthias is a member of the Commercial team and co-ordinates the IP/ICT services. He specialises in IP and ICT law. He assists clients in relation to trademarks, patents, copyrights, licensing, data protection, software development, e-commerce, domain name disputes and media law, amongst others.

Maximillien van de Werve

Maximilien is head partner of the Real estate practice. His practice covers cross-border and Belgian and/or Luxembourg real estate acquisitions, disposals, sale and leasebacks, development and construction projects, joint ventures, reorganisations and litigations.

Nancy Muyshondt

Nancy is a Director in Deloitte Legal's Tax Advisory team of lawyers. She focusses on VAT consulting and VAT litigation cases, with a special emphasis on VAT and indirect tax aspects of real estate transactions and on VAT consulting for the public and non profit sector.

Patrizia Macaluso

Patrizia is a Director in Conflict Handling within the Greenille Private Client team. She has a vast experience in both litigation and serving private clients.

Rik is a Director in the Corporate and M&A department. He specialises in corporate law, corporate reorganisation, M&A and capital markets. Rik currently heads a Chinese desk within the firm.

Stijn Demeestere heads the firm’s Employment, pensions and benefits team.

Tim Wustenberghs

Tim is partner in the Tax advisory team. His main focus is on corporate international tax, although he is also keen on handling real estate matters and registration duties as well. The tax advisory team headed by Tim has extensive expertise as a general tax advisor for numerous companies thereby assisting them with their (inbound) investments, reorganisations, holding activities and financing structures. They have also considerable experience in handling ruling requests with the Belgian tax administration.

Wim Naudts has a clear focus on administrative and regulatory law and is trusted advisor to a wide diversity of public bodies. Wim holds master degrees in Public Administration, European Studies and Law. He started his career in 2005 as a university researcher. In 2009 Wim was admitted to the bar and began to work as a lawyer for an Antwerp boutique law office, specialized in administrative and transport law. Wim worked i.a. on a large scale assignment for the EC’s DG MOVE on cargo handling in ports. In 2013 he joined the department public and regulatory law of Deloitte Legal. From 2012 until 2014 he was also a teaching assistant at the Catholic University of Leuven. Wim has solid knowledge of restructuring and public procurement, combining his experience as a lawyer with his insights as master in Public Administration and master in European Studies.

Yannick Van den broeke

Yannick Van den broeke is a Director in Deloitte Legal - Lawyers’ Corporate and M&A practice, also leading Deloitte’s Sports Sector in Belgium. He is an experienced lawyer with a demonstrated history of undertaking M&A and corporate structuring work for Belgian and international clients, with a specific focus on privately owned businesses. His transactional work involves advising clients during the complete process of acquiring or selling businesses (i.e. buy- and sellside due diligence, negotiating with counterparties and drawing up transaction documents). In his corporate structuring practice, Yannick supports clients with the (solvent) reorganisation of their businesses' legal structure through mergers, demergers, contributions, etc. He also advises clients on a wide range of company law matters, such as corporate governance and director's liability. Yannick is considered a trusted advisor to clients in various industries, notwithstanding his specific focus on Private clients and Technology, Media and Telecommunications, which includes Sports business), having strong project management skills and an eye for detail. Yannick regularly lectures and publishes on corporate law related matters.
