Career

Before joining Deloitte Legal in September 2019, she was the Head of the Energy Department at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo. With more than 16 years of professional experience, María possesses wide professional experience in all fields related to public authorities and regulated sectors (finance, energy, telecommunications, and infrastructure).

In matters of Energy, she advises in regulatory matters to the main energy companies in the markets of electricity, natural gas, hydrocarbons and renewable energies. She has been in charge of several transactions carried out in Spain relating to the renewable sector from both a financing and regulatory perspective. María has provided legal advice on the content of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) requested to ensure viability under the Spanish legislation, as well as on the regulatory requirements for the participation in the auctions called by the Spanish government for the allocation of the specific retributive scheme.

Furthermore, she won the Forbes award in the category ‘Best Lawyer under Forty’. She was also mentioned by the prestigious magazine Economist and Jurist as one of the best female lawyers.
