Haraldur has led Deloitte Legal Iceland since it was established in 2021. Haraldur has a wide-ranging experience within tax and legal, especially in the fields of transfer pricing, investments, tax incentives, value added tax and international tax. Haraldur has led all key transfer pricing engagements of the firm, from documentation and analysis to dispute. Furthermore, Haraldur has advised large companies as well as start-ups in the field of R&D tax incentives and investments and advised various local and international clients in e.g. in relation to tax structuring.

Haraldur was admitted to the Icelandic Bar Association in 2012. Over the past years, Haraldur has been a speaker at numerous events and held lectures at universities in Iceland, e.g. in the field of corporate governance. Haraldur has also published numerous articles in local papers and IBFD.

Haraldur initially joined Deloitte in 2024. Prior to that, Haraldur was the deputy managing director and general counsel of the Iceland Chamber of Commerce (ICC) where he collaborated with Iceland’s largest companies and international stakeholders. At the ICC, Haraldur led various advocacy projects as well as participated in various committees and boards, amongst others within the public sector.
