Before joining Deloitte, Hanno practiced as a corporate and commercial attorney at one of South Africa's largest law firms, where he advised on various mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, restructurings and general corporate and commercial law.

Hanno has considerable experience in negotiation of commercial transactions, drafting and interpretation of corporate and commercial agreements, legal due diligence work, private equity deals and intra group reorganisations and restructurings.

He has acted on behalf of a number of international and local private equity clients in their local and cross-border acquisitions and disposals, two of which transactions were awarded the DealMakers Private Equity Deal of the Year (in 2014 and 2016).
