Herkus is a well-recognized leading energy industry expert in Lithuania posessing extensive knowledge and inside understanding of local market. Over the last 15+ years he has acquired a unique blend of legal, technical and economic skills obtained through numerous projects in private, public and non-governmental sectors. He is helping clients on a wide range of regulatory and business law matters linked to energy, infrastructure and real estate industries.

Before joining Deloitte legal team in 2018, Herkus was heading the energy & infrastructure team, which has been recognized by Legal 500 as one of the leading practices among Lithuanian law firms. During his professional career Herkus also has earned a solid experience of serving as general counsel in a state-owned utility holding company and as board member in one of the major regional real estate development and shopping center management companies.

Herkus is a law school graduate from Vilnius University, Lithuania (Master degree) and from the University of Florida, USA (LL.M. degree). He has also done research at University of Gent (Belgium), Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria), University of Montpellier 1 (France) and was awarded with the Ph.D degree by Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania). Besides his legal education he also holds the Executive MBA from the Baltic Management Institute (Lithuania).
