Brendan Moriarty

Brendan is a litigation specialist with over 30 years’ experience in plaintiff and defence litigation in the District, Circuit, High and Supreme Courts, acting both for private clients and financial institutions.Throughout this time, Brendan has acted for a number of Irish and UK-based banks and financial institutions and he has been involved in several cases which have established important precedents in areas such as consent in medical negligence actions and the enforcement of solicitors’ undertakings.

Brendan is a partner in Whitney Moore's corporate team.  He specialises in advising on mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions, fundraisings and commercial agreements. His practice focuses on the mining, oil and gas and information technology sectors.Brendan represents international companies both publicly listed and privately owned in the mining and oil and gas sectors. His advice on the corporate side focuses on fundraisings, mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations and stock market listings/admissions, including on the AIM Market. On the commercial side, he is experienced in farm-in agreements, joint venture agreements and royalty agreements.In the information technology and medical technology sectors, Brendan has extensive experience in advising early-stage and established players, together with investors, on shareholders’ agreements and corporate governance, share options, fundraisings, venture capital, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he advises on cloud-related contracts such as SaaS, outsourcing and systems integration agreements, together with software licensing and related intellectual property commercialisation contracts. He also advises on data privacy.

Cathy McFadden

Cathy is an associate in Whitney Moore's Real Estate team.  She has focused her practice on commercial property for over a decade dealing with all aspects of property transactional work whilst acting for a variety of clients across the property spectrum. Her experience lends itself to both the private and public sectors in the jurisdictions of Ireland, Northern Ireland and England and Wales.Cathy provides specialist legal advice to property developers and investors on acquisitions and disposals, landlords and occupiers (including major space users), lending institutions, football clubs and housing associations. She works with investors, off-shore companies and domestically-based property specialists. She has also worked with a number of public-sector bodies, public and private limited companies and high net worth individuals with particular real estate interests.

Colin is a partner in Whitney Moore's Dispute Resolution team.  He advises clients in relation to commercial and property disputes, product and public liability claims, personal injury claims and debt recovery. He has particular expertise in automotive and aviation matters and has been involved in a number of mediations arising from commercial, automotive and aviation disputes. Colin also has considerable experience in the areas of debt recovery and commercial litigation.

Emma is an associate in Whitney Moore's Dispute Resolution team.  She has extensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution with particular expertise in debt and asset recovery. She primarily acts for lending institutions in Circuit Court and High Court proceedings relating to the enforcement of security.  Emma also advises private clients in relation to probate administration and wills.

Emma Richmond

Emma is partner in Whitney Moore's Dispute Resolution team and co-Head of its Employment, Immigration and Pensions team.  She is an experienced litigation solicitor, with expertise in defence litigation and dispute resolution, and with particular specialist expertise in employment and immigration.Emma advises both employers and employees on all aspects of the employment relationship from appointment through to termination. She regularly appears, on behalf of clients, before the Workplace Relations Commission and the Courts representing them in a range of disputes including unfair dismissal actions, discrimination claims and breach of contract actions.Emma also works closely with HR professionals and in-house management teams advising on day-to-day issues such as bullying and harassment, absenteeism, as well as restructuring and redundancies. She is an experienced public speaker and delivers seminars to clients and provides tailored training to in-house management teams in such areas as data protection, advising on the necessary steps to be taken by employers in protecting personal data collected in the course of their business.With the growth in foreign direct investment in recent years, and with a number of multinationals as clients, Emma has developed her immigration practice advising on and processing work permit applications for corporate clients and processing foreign investors’ applications through the Immigration Investor Programme.

Gerry is a partner in Whitney Moore's Dispute Resolution team.  He is a litigation specialist and has handled some of the largest and most complex cases to come before the Irish Courts. He also has extensive experience of international litigation practice involving European and US courts. While acting in commercial disputes for clients across a broad range of activities, Gerry has considerable experience of insurance, public liability, intellectual property, professional disciplinary and aviation litigation.

Julie is an associate in Whitney Moore's Real Estate and Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring teams.  She predominantly advises on acquisition and disposal, commercial landlord and tenant matters, as well as the real estate aspects of finance and insolvency related issues. She has significant technical knowledge and experience in conveyancing, insolvency and banking law. Julie works with retailers, developers, receivers, charities and high net worth domestic and international individuals.

She has experience in advising clients in relation to private equity investments, corporate governance, corporate restructuring and corporate management, commercial arrangements and agreements and contracts. She also has experience in family law litigation, personal injuries litigation and dispute resolution.

Vicky Riordan

Vicky is a partner in Whitney Moore's Dispute Resolution team.  She is a highly skilled, general commercial litigation solicitor and has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial litigation. She advises clients in commercial disputes across a broad range of activities. Relevant expertise includes advising in the areas of product liability and consumer law (with particular speciality in the automotive industry), breach of contract and specific performance claims, enforcement of debts both secured and unsecured, professional negligence claims relating to valuers and architects and injunction proceedings for both plaintiff and defendant.Vicky has a widely regarded expertise in the area of Banking litigation and is experienced in all aspects of debt recovery and complex enforcement procedures before the Courts including the Commercial Court division of the High Court.Vicky also advises on planning disputes, as well as judicial review proceedings. She has extensive practical experience in the area of alternative dispute resolution and is regularly involved in arbitrations and mediations.
