Position

Harald is a tax specialist and works primarily with structuring, transactions, incentive programs and dispute resolution for both businesses and investors. He is a trusted advisor for several family offices. Harald is known for his combination of technical and human skills, and gives also advice on tax policy issues and legal development towards lawmakers and the Ministry of Finance. Harald's experience includes e.g. principal cases within the private equity and financial sectors concerning classification of various income streams, financial instruments, loss deductions, life insurance regulations, innovative incentive schemes, partner models, exit tax issues, wealth and succession planning. Dispute resolution includes dialogue with tax authorities, appeals and court proceedings. Clients represent a wide spectre, from listed financial institutions to family offices and investors. Harald regularly comments tax news in the newspapers, speaks at seminars and writes articles on new regulations and court decisions in journals etc. Harald holds a PhD in tax law from the University of Oslo and is also an Assistant Professor II and lecturer with the Norwegian School of Economics. Harald has several times been awarded as Norway's leading tax lawyer in Finansavisen's ranking (the Norwegian Financial Business Newspaper). He has also been awarded the prize for best lecturer with the law school of University of Bergen.
