Lawyer

Barbara Mutsaers is a lawyer at AKD. She specialises in commercial contracting and litigation, pharmaceutical law, food law, cosmetics law and medical devices law. She advises and litigates in the fields of (international) commercial contracting/contract law and (product) liability.

She provides companies with legal assistance in connection with complex issues such as drafting complicated commercial contracts, liability issues, the interpretation and application of sector-specific legislation, recalls and discussions with supervisory bodies such as the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) or the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (IGJ). She also advises when conflicts arise regarding the conclusion, execution and termination of commercial agreements.

Her clients are national and international companies. They appreciate her involvement and drive.

She is member of the editorial board of the magazine ‘Waar & Wet’ (Commodities and Law) and various associations. She also teaches and publishes regularly on subjects within her specialist field.

Barbara regularly gives training courses such as the course entitled ‘Legal aspects of Export’. She also publishes regularly in the magazine F-Facts on contract law and writes for VMT (the journal and website for professionals in the food industry). She is also a member of the Dutch Food Law Association (NVLR) and the Dutch Pharmacy and Law Association.
