PhD (1991) on software copyright. Dr. Elisabeth Thole began practising law in 1991, joining Van Doorne in 1998. She authored many publications on privacy and IT related aspects. Editor of 'Tijdschrift voor Internetrecht' (Journal for Internet Law) and former editor of 'Privacy & Informatie' (Privacy & Information). Board member of the Netherlands Association of Privacy Lawyers (VPR-A), Member of the Complaints and Appeals Board for .nl domain names (College voor Klachten en Beroep, SIDN), former board member of the Netherlands Association of IT lawyers (VIRA), former Vice-President of the UIA Privacy Commission and Member of the Netherlands Privacy Law Association (VPR) and ITechlaw.
