Angelique Thiele
Angelique is part of the Financing team. Working from the Amsterdam and London offices, she assists with national and international property and project financing transactions. She also advises on the acquisition and sale of credit portfolios (commercial, ‘bad bank’) and restructuring solutions for property loans. Angelique is a highly experienced specialist in Dutch and cross-border secured financing transactions.
Angelique acts for Dutch and foreign banks and other financial institutions, (special) servicers, investors and large and medium sized companies as a legal advisor, negotiator and transaction manager on domestic and cross-border finance transactions, with an emphasis on property and project financing transactions (syndicated and clubloans, CMBS, restructurings, sell-downs, loan portfolio sales). Angelique has a PhD in Dutch, English and German banking law.
Anneloes van Uhm
Anneloes works in the Finance team. She advises lenders and borrowers in cross-border and domestic financing transactions, including project finance, acquisition finance and corporate lending. She also advises clients on (financial) restructurings and matters of insolvency law.
Anneloes previously worked for the State Advocate in tax matters. Her work involved, for example, tax collection law and attachment and enforcement law, and she litigated on behalf of the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Administration in the area of collecting tax debts.
In 2018 Anneloes completed the post-graduate Grotius specialists’ course Financing & Security cum laude. She studied at Utrecht University, where she graduated cum laude in 2011.
Annemieke Hendrikse
Annemieke (LLM UCL) heads Van Doorne's Insurance team. She works in Van Doorne's offices in Amsterdam and London.
Annemieke is an expert on insurance law and Directors & Officers liability.
Annemieke handles disputes on behalf of and between insurers. She advises on coverage and is an experienced litigator in coverage disputes. Her clients often instruct Annemieke and her team in complex and cross-border cases. She frequently represents primary and/or excess layers in (cross-border) discussions between the different layers of an insurance tower and/or different programs.
She mainly focusses on general liability, D&O liability, professional liability, fraud and cyber insurance.
Annemieke also frequently acts as monitoring counsel at the request of insurers to liaise between defence counsel of different insureds, to get the best result for all insureds in cases of (potential) conflicting interests between insureds.
In addition, insurers instruct Annemieke as defence counsel for D&O's of companies and non-profit organisations, including housing corporations and healthcare institutions, in national and international disputes.
Annemieke frequently publishes and lectures on the subject of D&O liability and insurance. She is a member of the editorial team of the online publication "VAST” (magazine for insurance and liability law, including regulatory law).
Annerie Ploumen
Annerie specializes in property and financing of this property. She assists companies with Dutch and international property transactions, financing, refinancing and project development as well as drafting all other types of property (and other) agreements. In addition, Annerie advises companies on preparing, formulating and carrying out national and international tenders. Annerie advises hospitals and universities regarding their real estate portfolio and the finance related items thereof. Furthermore she advises companies structuring and setting up property funds and preparing and drafting the related financing documents.
Ariën van Heesen
Ariën is a partner in the Real Estate team. He is a highly experienced specialist in commercial property, property (portfolio) transactions and specialist in commercial property, and project financing transactions. Ariën advises private equity and other investors, funds, finance institutions, local and regional authorities and large and mid-sized businesses on commercial property transactions, restructurings, auctions, voluntary sell-downs, bricks through shares and property loan portfolio sales.
Ariën advises on commercial property and financing transactions and advises and assists private equity firms, banks, businesses, local and regional authorities and governments on property (financing) matters. He also advises on restructuring and foreclosure scenarios.
Arnout Stroeve
Arnout primarily focuses on designing and restructuring international structures, financing and private equity transactions. He also provides advice to listed and other companies on a variety of corporate law issues.
He regularly acts as counsel to broadcasting organisations.
Arnout frequently teaches and lectures on legal subjects related to his specialty, such as the flexibilisation of corporate law, legal mergers/demergers and cross-border corporate law.
Bart van Reeken
Bart negotiates in a way which contributes to the success of relationships. He allocates much of his time to large IT and business process outsourcings which often stretch over multiple countries and jurisdictions. His work covers a broad spectrum, ranging from negotiating and drafting outsourcing agreements, software development agreements, software licences, implementation and SaaS agreements, to handling software license and compliance issues and IT-related disputes. He also has experience in setting up joint development, mutually integrated production, and joint marketing arrangements.
Bart’s primary focus is structuring effective business relations. He likes taking a holistic view and forging an inspiring cooperation in diverse teams, leading to creative approaches and solutions.
Bart has worked for more than half of the larger Netherlands based multinationals, including most of the larger Netherlands based banks and insurance companies. Bas heads Van Doorne's Patents and Trade Secrets practice
His technological focus is on mechanical and electronic engineering. He advises on European patent and licensing strategy, coordinating and conducting national and European patent litigation and the most complex trade mark cases. Bas is experienced in setting up and implementing border measure programs. He has successfully represented global companies before the Courts of The Hague. He is familiar with patents covering industry standards and the interface with EU antitrust law.
Bas van Zelst
Bas van Zelst is a partner in Van Doorne’s arbitration practice. Bas has extensive experience in conducting and advising on national and international commercial arbitration and related proceedings before the regular courts. He has particular expertise in advising on, and conducting proceedings relating to, distribution agreements and a particular interest in (cross-border) seizure and enforcement proceedings. In the past, Bas was involved in (advising on) arbitration procedures under the ICC, NAI, LCIA, UNCITRAL and DIS arbitration rules.
Further to his arbitration practice, Bas holds the Chair of Dispute Resolution & Arbitration at Maastricht University. His research focuses on cross-border conflict resolution with particular emphasis on arbitration.
Berber Bosch
Berber is part of the IT team. She focuses on drafting, advising and litigating on IT related agreements.
Berber obtained a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Amsterdam and also studied at the Freie Universität in Berlin. She holds a master's degree from the Institute for Information Law (IViR).
She joined Van Doorne in 2017 and is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar. She also worked in the Dispute Resolution and Insurance team.

Daan Horsthuis
Daan heads Van Doorne's Funds & Investment Management practice group. He specialises in the establishment of investment funds, including private equity / venture capital funds, hedge funds, real estate funds, retail funds (UCITS and non-UCITS) and fund of funds. Daan also advises asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies and other institutional investors on matters such as discretionary and fiduciary asset management and asset pooling, and provides regulatory advice in relation to collective and other forms of asset management.
Daan Beenders
Daan is a senior litigation partner and heads Van Doorne’s litigation team. He specializes in liability law, procedural law and mass claims. Before joining Van Doorne, Daan was a litigation partner with De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. He worked for De Brauw for 20 years and was one of the lead partners within the commercial litigation and mass claims group of the firm.
Daan has represented leading corporations and multinationals in both jurisdictional and multi-jurisdictional complex commercial litigation and class actions and has advised a broad spectrum of clients on all kind of liability issues. He has been involved as lead counsel in numerous landmark litigation cases in the Netherlands.
Daan also serves as a deputy judge in the District Court of Noord-Holland and regularly lectures and publishes on liability, contract law, procedural law and mass claims.

Daniëlle Westerhoff
Daniëlle is a specialist in the Tax Law practice. She mainly advises clients on national tax law, focussing on clients in the semi-public and public law sector, such as educational institutions, healthcare facilities and governments. Within that context, Danielle focuses on the tax-law aspects of collaborations, mergers, demergers, acquisitions and internal reorganisations. Daniëlle frequently advises clients on value-added tax, company income tax, capital transfer tax and gift tax, which often touches on the consequences for the private individuals involved in respect of income and wage tax.

Dimitri van Hoewijk
Dimitri is part of the Corporate team and member of our Healthcare & Life Sciences team. He is an expert in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions, joint-ventures, participations and regulatory matters in the healthcare and life sciences sector.
Dimitri advises businesses, the corporate sector, (private equity) investors and healthcare providers, (international) manufacturers and distributors of medicinal products and medical devices. He focuses particularly on the healthcare and life sciences industry and has specific expertise in regulatory matters relating to (reimbursement and market access of) medicinal products, medical devices and digital health.

Estelle van Heerden
Estelle is member of the Finance team. She was admitted as a lawyer of the High Court of South Africa in 2004 and was subsequently also admitted as a notary and conveyancer in South Africa.

Florence Verbeek
Florence specialises in national and international commercial contract law, with a focus on drafting and reviewing (cross-border) distribution, franchise and agency agreements, supply and purchase agreements and general terms and conditions. Friso Foppes

Gijs Verberne

Jasper Leedekerken
Jasper is a member of Van Doorne’s management board and heads the dispute resolution practice group. He specializes in complex commercial and corporate litigation. In legal proceedings, he represents a range of both national and international clients with leading businesses. His practice involves a broad range of civil liability issues, including disputes about various types of contracts, tort litigation, mass damages, and securities litigation.
In addition, Jasper successfully completed (cum laude) the Corporate Litigation postgraduate programme at Grotius Academy. He is a member of the Dutch Association for Civil Procedure Law and the Corporate Litigation Association as well, and is also a frequent guest lecturer for continuing education programmes for lawyers.
Jeanette Ozinga
Jeanette (lawyer, adviser) is an expert on environmental law matters and advises large industrial and investment companies on environmental law matters, including in the areas of waste and energy transition since 1991. Jeanette has a special focus on waste management, circular economy, and energy transition, areas which will play a significant role in the practice going forward.
Jelmer Baukema
Jelmer has become partner in the finance and restructuring practice at Van Doorne as per 1 January 2023. Joost Volkers
Joost has become partner at Van Doorne as per 1 January 2023.
Joost is specialised in insolvency law, commercial contracts, liability issues, litigation and international private law. He also has broad experience in the finance practice. He focuses on advising on and litigating with respect to loan and security documents, insolvency law and various commercial contracts. He also drafts and reviews commercial contracts for national and international clients. In addition, Joost advises on liability issues and any international private law aspects thereof.
Jordie Bakker
Jordie Bakker (attorney at law), is a partner of the Real Estate team. He specializes in advising both national and international clients on commercial real estate developments, civil construction law, tenancy law and property transactions. In addition, he has a vast experience in preparing and negotiating turn-key sale and development agreements.
Léone Klapwijk
Léone's principal areas of practice are energy regulatory law (comprising of electricity, natural gas, heat and hydrogen), energy transactions, large-scale energy projects, energy contracts and energy (regulatory) litigation.
Léone represents a wide spectrum of participants in the energy markets. Her clients include large (heat) supply and production companies in the regulated markets, companies in the chemical and industrial sectors, transmission and distribution system operators. She has extensive experience in solving and handling issues in the field of regulated and non-regulated (CO2, fuels, hydrogen) utilities. Léone is at her best when (together with the client team working on multidisciplinary, complex energy projects.

Lisette Bieleveld
Lisette is head of Van Doorne’s Commercial team. She advises and litigates on behalf of domestic and international companies and organisations with regard to all commercial contracts, such as (international) agency, franchise and distribution contracts, (international) sale/purchase agreements (including general conditions, sourcing and framework agreements), services agreements, co-operation agreements and confidentiality agreements. She has specific expertise in commercial litigation (both before Dutch Courts as well as in (international) arbitration), consumer law, liability law and related matters of an international private law nature.
She also advises and litigates in the areas of e-commerce and IT, including outsourcing, software and hardware sales and supply of software licensing and on failed IT projects.

Louis Jonker

Mark Moolhuizen
Mark is a very experienced expert in the area of private construction law and property law. He specifically focuses on complex projects, in which authorities as well as private parties are involved: public-private partnership. He specialises in drafting and negotiating (complex) construction law contracts concerning all stages of the building process, including design, construction, maintenance and/or management, as well as funding if applicable. Maurits Terlouw

Meltem Koning-Gungormez

Neyah van der Aa
Neyah specialises in criminal defense and investigations, with a particular focus on financial economic crime, anti-money laundering legislation, international sanctions regulations and fraud. Neyah helps companies and boards prevent violations of laws and regulations, for instance by implementing compliance measures. Neyah also assists companies and boards in the event of a potential breach of laws and regulations, including by conducting investigations, taking remedial action and preparing for potential government enforcement. Neyah has acted as counsel in some of the most high-profile enforcement cases in the Netherlands and has broad experience in defending companies that are the subject of complex national and international investigations, both by criminal investigative and prosecutorial agencies (e.g. the FIOD and the Dutch Public Prosecution Office) and by administrative enforcement agencies (e.g. the AFM and DNB). Neyah often cooperates closely with other internal and external experts, such as internal auditors and forensic accountants. Neyah regularly publishes and gives lectures on compliance, investigations and international sanctions.
Nick Suurmond
Nick is a member of our Corporate Law team and deals with various matters relating to corporate law in the broadest sense. He is also a member of the Healthcare & Life Sciences team and provides counsel to parties operating in the healthcare & life sciences industry.
Nicole Soliana
Nicole is a member of the Real Estate team. She specialises in contract law and liability law, with a focus on real estate/project development and government authorities. Her particular area of expertise is private law in relation to the public sector. She also regularly advises and litigates in matters relating to environmental law, tenancy law and construction law.
Nicole mainly assists property developers, real estate investors, contractors and governmental authorities, particularly in relation to agreements and disputes regarding complex real estate-related topics.
Niels van Boekel
Niels is part of the Employment Law team. He advises Dutch clients and international clients on various employment-law issues. He focuses particularly on issues at the interface of employment law and business law, including mergers and acquisitions, participative decision-making and the position of directors under the articles of association.
Nina Korstenbroek
Nina is part of the European & Competition Law team. She focuses on various issues relating to cartel prohibition, abuse of dominant positions and concentration notifications. Nina is also part of the team of the State advocate in tax matters and represents the Tax and Customs Administration in legal proceedings.
Nina read law at the University of Amsterdam and l’Université Pierre Mendès France in Grenoble. She obtained a master’s degree in International and European Law (European Competition Law track) from the University of Amsterdam.

Özer Zivali

Pieter de Jong Schouwenburg
Pieter is a dispute resolution specialist. With broad litigation experience, including in alternative dispute resolution (such as international arbitration), Pieter feels quite at home in court and other proceedings. Pieter van Regteren Altena
Pieter specializes in liability and insurance law, concentrating on professional liability, product liability, corporate liability and related insurance aspects, as well as on non-insured inter-company liability. Ralph Ubels
Ralph specializes in financial liability law. Ralph acts for banks, insurers, accounting firms and other financial service providers. Remco Bäcker
Remco, attorney at law, is a member of the real estate practice group of Van Doorne N.V. He specialises in environmental and spatial planning law, general administrative procedure law, construction law, and the overlapping area between public/private law and rental law. Rob de Win
Rob is a highly experienced, internationally recommended tax specialist. He furnishes advice on tax matters in the Mergers and Acquisitions practice group, including with regard to management participation schemes, internal reorganizations, business successions, and real estate and related transactions and projects. Rob specifically focuses on turnover taxes. Rob gained a wealth of experience in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) practice group, having advised public authorities, schools and health care institutions on real estate issues and infrastructure projects, as well as on structuring educational and health care cooperative ventures. Rogier Schellaars
Rogier specialises in international commercial arbitration. He is co-practice head at Van Doorne.
Rogier acts as lead counsel, expert and arbitrator on M&A, joint-venture and investment claims (Dutch and foreign seated). Rogier also works as co-counsel. He is particularly active in the Energy, Life Sciences and Technology sectors.
Ruud de Kleijn
Ruud is part of the IT-team at Van Doorne. He advises and litigates on IT-contracts, outsourcings and complex issues where IT is involved.
Before joining the Bar in 2012, Ruud participated in a two-year management traineeship and worked as a management consultant. Because of this experience, Ruud easily understands the clients' business needs and acknowledges that legal advice should be practically applicable while being aligned with strategic objectives.
Ruud worked for large and semi-large companies and (financial) institutions. He has a broad background and interests, for the matter as well as the people involved.

Sarah Beeston
Sarah Beeston heads the European & Competition team of Van Doorne. She advises clients and represents their interests in commercial relations and before competition authorities and courts, including in competition-related damages claims. Sarah has experience in most industries from energy and transport to consumer goods and financial services. She is also active in semi-public sectors including education, healthcare and life sciences. Sarah is board member of the Association for Women and Competition.
Sarah is innovative and seeks solutions. She obtained the first commitment decision and first settlement decision taken by the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets. On behalf of a client, she has also worked with the ACM on criteria for leniency in non-horizontal cases. She has successfully negotiated the termination of investigations without fines or formal commitments and settled cases involving international damages claims.
Saskia Laseur
Saskia has worked as a civil-law notary for nearly 20 years, having gained her notarial expertise in The Hague. The semi-public sector is her specialization. Saskia believes that civil-law notaries need to keep up with the times, by being a proactive legal advisor, in addition to providing traditional notarial services. She adheres to this approach both inside and outside the profession – for instance, she was a member of the Royal Netherlands Notarial Organisation’s national board for three years.

Siego Boslooper
Siego is an experienced specialist in corporate law and is a member of the Healthcare & Life Sciences team. Siego obtained her postgraduate degree in Corporate and Business Law at Grotius Academy and is a member of the Royal Dutch Association of Civil-law Notaries.
Sijbren Kuiper
Sijbren is pension law specialist. He represents a large number of pension funds and pension service providers. He also advises Dutch and foreign companies on pension matters. Sijbren has extensive experience in the field of pension asset transfers, liquidations of pension funds, outsourcing, changes and de-risking of pension schemes, works councils aspects of pensions, exemption of sector wide pension funds, regulatory pension issues. Victor van Ahee
Victor is an expert on regulatory issues relating to energy and industry. With a broad expertise on the regulation of activities, products and substances he assists companies in the energy-, chemical-, and manufacturing industries through advise and representation in front of the administrative courts.
Following the energy transition, companies are faced with increasingly complex (EU) regulation where legal and practical advice is required. As part of the Energy, Industry & Renewables-team Victor focusses on the energy and environmental regulatory issues of industrial companies.

Walter Hendriksen
Walter Hendriksen specialises in complex issues involving director’s and officer’s liability, professional liability, general liability, insurance law, commercial litigation, fraud and white-collar crime.
