Position
Liese Kuyken is a member of our Commercial & Litigation department, where she is part of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the Information Governance & Data Protection (Privacy), and the Intellectual Property (IP) practices.
Liese's practice focuses on Data Protection (Privacy) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Liese regularly assists clients in data protection matters, including with respect to processing agreements, privacy and cookie policies and data subjects' rights.
Moreover, she specializes in privacy issues in both a national and international context (GDPR compliance, drafting and review of controller and processor agreements, binding corporate rules, etc.). Liese is involved in several proceedings related to the processing of personal data, both before the Data Protection Authority and the Belgian courts.
Liese also assists clients in the areas of intellectual property rights, telecom, internet and information technology.
Career
Furthermore, she teaches media law in the journalism program at KU Leuven (Brussels), where she educates students on issues such as privacy and image rights. Moreover, she is a guest lecturer in the commercial sciences program at KU Leuven (Antwerp), where she teaches on artificial intelligence.
Liese is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences on (personal) data, technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and ICT matters and regularly publishes in legal reviews such as Tijdschrift Privacy & Persoonsgegevens (Personal Data and Privacy Review).
