Bastiaan has a particular focus on: information governance data protection and privacy technology procurement and outsourcing contracts electronic communications internet and e-commerce intellectual property Bastiaan advises companies in a variety of sectors on information governance, data protection, data privacy and regulatory matters. He is particularly active in the telecoms, banking and energy sectors and has broad experience in drafting and negotiating agreements in the field of IT and electronic communications. An expert in intellectual property, he helps clients to understand and address the complicated IP issues that may arise in ICT projects and transactions, including software licensing, development and implementation projects. He advises customers and suppliers on different types of outsourcing projects, including multi-jurisdictional IT outsourcing (ITO) and business process outsourcing (BPO). He regularly advises on long-term technology-driven strategic agreements, often in the framework of M&A transactions, as well as on B2B, B2C and C2C e-commerce projects. He also assists clients in both contentious and non-contentious advisory and transactional matters.

Bruno is a Partner in the Real Estate, Environment & Regulatory practice. Bruno has broad experience in commercial real estate transactions concerning the purchase and sale of real estate properties (asset deal) and real estate companies (share deal) and in all legal aspects of project development. He assists clients with the conclusion of various types of real estate contracts such as purchase, lease, leasing, contracting, etc. and advises them on strategic commercial matters. In addition, he has extensive experience in real estate and construction litigation.

Dario Petosa is a Partner in our Real Estate, Environment and Regulatory practice. Dario’s expertise encompasses all aspects of real estate and construction law, covering the various stages of a property’s life cycle. In particular he specialises in commercial real estate transactions (asset deals, share deals and split sales) and commercial real estate projects in various industries (healthcare, logistics, offices, public, residential and retail). He has extensive experience in all sorts of construction-related agreements (e.g. promotor and contractor agreements, architecture and engineering agreements) and has developed a unique expertise in early contractor involvement. He has also assisted clients in EPC and DB(F)(M) projects. Dario regularly acts in these matters before the Belgian courts and tribunals and also has experience in arbitration.

Geert has a particular focus on all tax aspects of: M&A and  private equity real estate company restructuring structuring of private assets tax disputes and anti-money laundering procedures Geert advises multinational companies investment funds, banks,  real estate investors, as well as high net worth individuals and family offices on Belgian and international tax matters. He assists clients in M&A and Private Equity transactions as well as in real estate acquisitions and fund structuring. He also has a specific expertise in helping private clients to structure their corporate, real estate and  private assets in the most effective way, including the transfer to the next generation. . He also supports clients, when needed, in tax disputes and anti – money laundering litigation.

Hugo is a partner in the Commercial and Dispute Resolution practices and heads the Insurance and Reinsurance team. He is one of the only Belgian lawyers with considerable experience and expertise in complex reinsurance disputes before the Belgian Courts. Hugo’s practise today is focused on large and complex liability and insurance claims in areas such as All Risk Property, Construction All Risk Insurance, ALOP Insurance, D&O, Professional Indemnity and Product Liability Insurance. He is the trusted advisor of a large number of international and Belgian insurers on complex and sensitive legal issues, often with an important financial and/or international impact. Hugo also handles arbitration and mediation cases. He acted as counsel, arbitrator and mediator.

Jan is a Partner in Lydian's Employment, Pensions & Benefits practice. He represents both companies and executives in employment counselling and transactions. He has extensive experience in the full range of employment law, with a special focus on company restructurings (mass lay-offs, including collective bargaining), negotiation of severance packages for senior executives and drafting of HR policies. Jan is often involved in cases of employee fraud, privacy issues related to internal investigations, whistle–blowing, and dismissal for cause.

Kyoto leads the Environment practice and has in depth experience in environmental law in the broad sense, covering urban planning, permitting, soil legislation, waste legislation and energy law, as well as in general administrative law (administrative proceedings, proceedings before the Council for Permit Disputes/Council of State). She also regularly assists clients in real estate transactions (due diligence, real estate contracts etc.).

Liese Kuyken is a member of our Commercial & Litigation department, where she is part of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the Information Governance & Data Protection (Privacy), and the Intellectual Property (IP) practices. Liese's practice focuses on Data Protection (Privacy) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Liese regularly assists clients in data protection matters, including with respect to processing agreements, privacy and cookie policies and data subjects' rights. Moreover, she specializes in privacy issues in both a national and international context (GDPR compliance, drafting and review of controller and processor agreements, binding corporate rules, etc.). Liese is involved in several proceedings related to the processing of personal data, both before the Data Protection Authority and the Belgian courts. Liese also assists clients in the areas of intellectual property rights, telecom, internet and information technology.

Marijn De Ruysscher is a member of our Commercial and Dispute Resolution practices and of our Insurance & Reinsurance industry department. Marijn has a broad experience in commercial dispute resolution via litigation and arbitration in different areas such as liability law, commercial contracts and distribution law. Marijn has a special experience in complex questions relating to prescription law. Marijn is a co-author of a commentary on the Belgian Arbitration Act, which was published in 2019 and updated in 2024. He is also regularly appointed as arbitrator. Marijn was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2008 and is amongst others a member of CEPANI and the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). He is for the period 2023-2025 Board Member (Treasurer) of the ICAL Alumni Association (Stockholm).

Dr. Stijn Lamberigts specializes in criminal law, with a specific focus on business criminal law. Before joining Lydian, Stijn earned his PhD at the KU Leuven and the Université du Luxembourg on the privilege against self-incrimination of corporations and was an attorney within the (corporate) criminal law team of another Belgian law firm. Stijn provides legal assistance to businesses, governments, and individuals when they come into contact with (business) criminal law. He assists both defendants and victims of criminal offences. Stijn's expertise covers various areas, including: Criminal liability of legal entities and their executives Money laundering Fraud, including employee fraud and tax fraud Cybercrime Corruption Workplace accidents Whistleblowing He regularly represents clients in Belgian courts, both in Dutch and French. Moreover, he is qualified to handle criminal cases before the Court of Cassation, thanks to his certification in "Cassation Proceedings in Criminal Cases.”

Tim regularly advises clients on commercial (B2B and B2C) and corporate law related issues and also assists them with the drafting of commercial contracts (including agency and distribution contracts). Tim specialises in commercial law and litigation, with a particular focus on corporate litigation (e.g. post M&A, liability of directors and founders, W&I insurance claims,..). Tim is also a member of the multidisciplinary Lydian team Fraud and Internal Investigations.
