Position

Wouter is a partner in the Real Estate, Environment & Regulatory practice, heads the Real Estate practice and is co-head of the Regulatory practice. He is also head of the Real Estate Developers & Investors department, co-head of the Public Sector and Wealth departments and a partner in the Energy department.

Career

Wouter has a particular focus on:

commercial and residential developments real estate transactions project development and setting out strategies leasing administrative and environmental law financing and fiscal structures negotiations with governments and institutions

Wouter’s considerable expertise is in real estate transactions combined with administrative and environmental aspects such as risk evaluation, financing, contract negotiations, funding and fiscal structures. He advises clients on a wide range of commercial, office, large residential, hotel and retail developments, including shopping centres, business parks, hotels, logistics centres, hospitals and residential complexes throughout Belgium.

His extensive experience in guiding government contracts, negotiations with governments and government institutions, and in setting up financing agreements and liability arrangements makes him a trusted adviser to several well-known private and public companies. In this capacity, he provides support on projects ranging from take-over purchases and joint ventures to construction programmes and tax optimizing investments.

Education

Wouter graduated in 1991 as Licentiate in Laws at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL). In 1992, he further specialised (Master of Laws) at King’s College, University of London. He was admitted to the Brussels bar in 1992.
