Dr Gerd Hansen is a Partner in Fieldfisher's Munich office and has been advising on Copyright and Media Law for many years.

As an experienced entertainment lawyer with a deep passion for media content, he specializes in production legal services covering all phases of the content production process. His expertise spans from the initial stages of development and financing, through the intricacies of film and series production, to the global distribution of both national and international film and TV productions.

With extensive experience gained from his previous roles, including (inhouse) Legal Director Content Production at ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE and Head of Legal Affairs Sky Studios Germany, he possess a comprehensive understanding of the nuanced perspectives of producers, broadcasters, and streaming platforms. These unique insights into the commercial dynamics and processes of major media companies allow him to deliver tailored legal solutions that meet complex legal standards and industry best practices.

Furthermore, he offers specialized legal advice concerning the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the Entertainment sector.

He studied in Freiburg, Seville, Berlin and Munich. As a scholarship holder of the German Max Planck Society, he completed his PhD in the field of Copyright Law at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property Law in Munich. The PhD thesis, which was awarded "summa cum laude", was honoured with the LMU Munich Faculty Prize.
