Bas Martens specializes in the areas of real estate development, area development and complex construction disputes, with a particular focus on social-purpose real estate and transformation-related issues. He regularly serves as a sparring partner for local authorities involved in deadlocked area development projects and land development conflicts. In addition, Bas often represents educational and healthcare institutions in complex matters and change processes, including mergers, the formulation of a real estate strategy and the purchase/sale of educational or healthcare facilities. He also handles high public-impact matters for leading institutions and listed companies.

Bas is a member of the Vereniging voor Bouwrecht (Construction Law Association) and the Vereniging van Huurrecht Advocaten (Real Estate Lawyers Association). He is a lecturer at Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen, Lexlumen and the Grotius Academie and a guest lecturer at the SRA (Association of Registered Accountants and Accounting Consultants).

Education

Bas has been with Lexence since 2017. He studied law at Universiteit Maastricht and spent a semester at the University of Surrey. Bas was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 1997.
