Introducing Stephen

Stephen McCarthy deals with a wide range of property matters, specialising in commercial leases, landlord and tenant estate management and complex property transactions.

The wealth of experience and technical knowledge that Stephen has acquired over the years, enables him to resolve complicated landlord, tenant and other commercial property problems quickly and efficiently.

Stephen handles all property management issues for clients’ property portfolios, such as drafting and negotiating lease agreements, reviewing development obligations, legal management of leasehold properties including rent reviews, granting licences to assign, sublet or carry out alterations, serving notices to tenants, dealing with dilapidations and other breach situations, renewing business leases and pursuing court proceedings.

Experience

As true recognition of his commercial property abilities, Stephen provided external support to the Land Registry’s Property Asset Management division for 25 years.

During this time, he managed the Land Registry’s own premises throughout England and Wales, acting on the purchase and disposal of regional offices throughout the country and providing property management support to their substantial portfolio of leasehold premises.

Stephen has excellent working relationships with some of the UK’s largest property developers, such as Bowmer + Kirkland Limited and Clowes Developments (UK) Limited, regularly supporting them on their large portfolio of commercial leasehold properties’ legal requirements.
