Position

Partner in the Healthcare team at Hayes solicitors, Kevin has substantial court and litigation experience, having acted for a wide variety of plaintiffs, as well as on behalf of a number of insurance companies in the defence of personal injury actions. He specialises in professional negligence with particular emphasis on the defence of medical, dental and veterinary negligence claims. He also advises professionals on all regulatory matters from dealing with complaints to their respective regulatory bodies, such as the Medical Council of Ireland, through to conclusion of the process. Kevin also represents doctors at inquests. He has represented a substantial number of doctors and hospitals on behalf of the Medical Protection Society (MPS) and State Claims Agency (SCA) in medical negligence claims. This work includes representing professionals at Inquests around Ireland. Kevin also advises the Medical Protection Society and its member doctors on all regulatory matters including attending before the Medical Council of Ireland. He advises professionals involved in investigations or disciplinary matters. He advises dentists individually and on behalf of Dental Protection. He also advises the Veterinary Defence Society in relation to complaints and material damage claims against veterinary surgeons.
