Position

Partner with Banwo & Ighodalo, a leading multidisciplinary Nigerian firm which provides first-class legal advisory services on corporate and commercial Nigerian law.

Kehinde lead the team advising Greenville Oil and Gas Limited, in connection with the development of a mini liquefied natural gas project in Rumuiji, Rivers State for the purpose of supplying liquefied natural gas to the Nigerian domestic gas market via virtual pipelines. Kehinde is also co-leading the team advising the Board of Trustees, Ogoni Trust Fund, a body set up to manage and disburse the One Billion United States Dollars (US$1,000,000,000) Ogoni Trust Fund, which is to be applied towards the environmental rehabilitation of Ogoniland, Rivers State, Nigeria.

Kehinde led the team advising the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (“NNPC”) and its subsidiaries on several novel and important transactions, including the proposed transition of its UJV arrangements with indigenous oil companies, into a fully-fledged IJV.

Futhermore, Kehinde is currently co-leading the team advising the Bank of China, Oilserve-Oando-CFCHEC Consortium and Bentex-CPP Consortium in connection with the US$3,000,000,000 Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline project, a major gas infrastructure project in Nigeria designed to connect the pipeline networks in the eastern and western parts of Nigeria to the northern region, and will become the largest pipeline network in Nigeria upon completion.

Education

He obtained his law degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and a Masters’ Degree in Law from the University of Newcastle, England. In addition to his formal education, Kehinde has undergone professional training in several courses from Nigerian and international organisations, including “School for International Financial Law,” (St. Catherine’s College, Oxford University), organized by Euromoney Legal Training; “The Core Course on International Oil and Gas Law,” (Cape Town, South Africa), organized by the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation; “Project Finance: Key Legal, Structural and Risk Issues,” (Lagos), organized by Euromoney Legal Training, “Business Development for Law Firms,” (Lagos), organized by the Law Society of England and Wales in association with the Section on Business Law of the Nigerian Bar Association; “International Upstream and Downstream Gas Business Management Certificate Program,” (Boston, USA), organized by International Human Resources Development Corporation; and “Warranties, Indemnities & Disclosure in Mergers & Acquisitions and other International Business Transactions,” (London) organized by Euromoney Legal Training.
