Before rejoining E+H as an attorney, he gained international experience as a lawyer in London with the distinguished New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.

Josef Schmidt graduated with distinction with a law degree from the University of Vienna, and a degree in business administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. As part of his business studies, Josef Schmidt spent one semester at the University of Texas at Austin. He completed his postgraduate LL.M. studies at the elite Harvard University.
