Position

Graeme Wickins has been a Director at Werksmans Attorneys since 2016 in the Competition and  Media, Communications & Technology practice areas. He specialises in obtaining of approval for mergers and takeovers from the competition authorities in South Africa and throughout Africa including Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and with supranational African competition authorities including CEMAC and COMESA, providing competition law advice in regard to alleged anti-competitive conduct such as cartels, minimum resale price maintenance and abuses of dominance, conducting specialised competition compliance audits and providing focused competition law training including workshops and face to face training and developing compliance programmes, including search and seizure (dawn raid) guidelines and "mock" dawn raid simulations.

Career

Graeme was appointed Senior Associate in 2012 and Director in 2016, at Werksmans. He has also provided competition law advice in regard to alleged anti-competitive conduct such as cartels; minimum resale price maintenance; and abuses of dominance. He also has expertise in conducting specialised competition compliance audits and providing focused competition law training.Graeme has acted as lead legal advisors to Litha Pharma and Endo in relation to regulatory matters with specific regard to the Competition Act, 1998. He also represented Media24 in defending itself against the complaint before the Competition Tribunal.

Education

Graeme holds a BCom LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg.
