The firm: Wolf Theiss opened its first office in Vienna in 1957 and soon established a reputation as one of the region’s leading law firms. The firm has since grown into a multinational team of approximately 390 lawyers, making it one of the largest integrated law firms in the region. It has offices* in Albania, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Ukraine.

This presence on the ground is one of the firm’s key strengths. It works in a fast-moving part of the world that requires deep local knowledge and experience. Apart from its local offices in 13 CEE/SEE countries, Wolf Theiss also offers extensive regional experience in other countries in the region, such as Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia.

Romania: The Bucharest office is a strategic element in Wolf Theiss’ regional presence. As one of the largest offices within the firm’s network, it has an eye towards further expansion. The new business ecosystem in Romania has resulted in some of the most significant growth in the EU over recent years. With a team comprising of over 50 lawyers (including 8 partners), the Bucharest office is poised to meet the needs of our clients in such an exciting market. The local lawyers have extensive experience in all areas of commercial law, with a particular emphasis on Corporate M&A, Energy, Banking & Finance, Dispute resolution, Data protection, Real Estate, Competition and Corporate Investigations.
The team has proven experience in complex domestic and cross-border transactions, supporting both international companies and domestic entrepreneurs to capitalise on the Romanian market’s many opportunities.
