Career

Herman has broad international experience in corporate and commercial law and is involved in large, often multi-national, transactions such as private acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, domestic and international reorganization projects, pre- & post-merger integration projects, legal entity rationalization and OME (operating model effectiveness). He has furthermore fast experience with the drafting and negotiation of complex contracts such as IT-contracts, license agreements, SLA’s, distribution agreements, etc. He also assists and advices non-profit organizations. Herman started his career with EY as an auditor to then become a lawyer in 1999. He moved to New York for two years to head the Belgian and Luxembourg legal desk of EY. After he returned, Herman worked with EY Transaction Services in Luxembourg. He returned to EY in Brussels to join the Transfer Pricing department where he was mainly involved in OME projects and the drafting of specific transfer pricing contracts. He became a lawyer again joined the bar in 2009 and re-joined EY Law in September 2017.

Education

Herman obtained a Master in Law at the Ghent University and a Master in Economic Sciences at the FUNDP Namur. He has also a LLM in corporate and commercial law from the University of Antwerp.

Leisure

Herman is an avid lover of baroque music and regularly attends concerts. In addition, he reads various types of books and is a film lover. He travels regularly to discover new cultures.
